Salary
Salary is commensurate with education and experience as per the CCFA Collective Agreement. At initial placement, minimum placement is step 11 ($70,437) and maximum initial placement is step 4 ($94,548).

Once employed, dependent upon category, increments-for-service allow for progression to step 1 ($112,872) for Category II (master degree) or to step 2A ($105,175) for Category I (bachelor degree).

Job Description

Job Description Additional Information
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about education, who have successfully taught at the College or University level, and are able to communicate effectively with students both in and out of the classroom. Candidates with a Master’s in Astronomy (or related Masters Degree) with Relevant experience teaching at the post-secondary level, including both lectures and labs. Experience working with diverse student populations are invited to apply. Candidates with degrees in a related field but with some demonstrated background and teaching experience in Astronomy may also be considered.
The School of Arts and Science and the Department of Physics and Astronomy invites qualified candidates to submit applications for a for a continuing position teaching both Astronomy and Physics. This position will include a combination of evening and daytime courses. Courses are taught at both Lansdowne and Interurban campuses.





Qualifications
· Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Astronomy with demonstrated experience in Astronomy and Physics. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
· Minimum of two years of recent and related teaching experience in a post-secondary lecture and laboratory setting (with an emphasis on teaching introductory non-majors science courses)
· Some practical experience observing with telescopes and observing the night sky

Note: Shortlisted applicants will be asked to present samples of their teaching work and prepare a short lecture during the interview process)
